MD Now Medical Centers, headquartered in West Palm Beach, FL, is a leading operator of full-service, walk-in urgent care centers in South Florida. The company provides urgent care, extended hours primary care, occupational medicine, physical therapy and comprehensive healthcare services through a higher acuity delivery model. MD Now offers a patient-friendly and differentiated healthcare alternative by providing high-quality, convenient, timely and affordable medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

Brockway Moran & Partners invested in MD Now in partnership with its founders, Dr. Peter and Stephanie Lamelas, in March 2012. At the time, the company had six highly-profitable clinics located within Palm Beach County and had established a business model and approach to the market that could be replicated with the appropriate resources and capital. Over the six-year investment period, MD Now dramatically expanded its footprint in South Florida to cover the tri-county area of Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties through de novo clinic openings and selected acquisitions. Over this time, MD Now grew from six to forty-two locations open or soon to open at the time of its sale.

In addition to establishing MD Now as the leading urgent care provider in the South Florida market, over this same time period, the company strengthened its management team through the recruitment of six key senior management positions. Additionally, the IT infrastructure for real-time tracking and management of operational metrics was created, while a customized site scoring model to benchmark clinic performance and streamline the de novo development process was established. Also during this time frame, MD Now engaged a full-service marketing and advertising firm to refresh, professionalize and standardize the brand across the tri-county area as well as formalize the company’s marketing approach and messaging to the community through the use of all media channels, including radio, TV, outdoor, social media and internet marketing.

In August 2018, MD Now was sold to Brentwood Associates and management resulting in an outstanding outcome. Brockway Moran was delighted to partner with Dr. and Mrs. Lamelas and the MD Now management team to create a true leader in Urgent Care.
